Privacy Policy

SoftCue is made by All About the B LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the SoftCue iOS app collects, why, and what we do with it. The short version: your scripts stay on your phone, we do not sell data, and we do not show ads.

What stays on your device

• Your scripts. Scripts you write or import are stored locally on your device. We do not upload them unless you use AI Rewrite (see below).
• Your recordings. Videos you record are saved to your device. They are never sent to us.
• Your settings. Scroll speed, font size, camera choice and similar preferences are stored on your device.

What we collect

• A device identifier. The app generates a random identifier for your device so we can count free trial recordings and rewrites. It is not your name, email, or Apple ID.
• Sign in with Apple. When you sign in, Apple gives us a user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address (or an Apple relay address). We use this to keep your purchases and rewrite allowance tied to your account.
• Purchase status. Apple tells us whether you have unlocked the app or hold an active subscription so the app can enable the right features. We never see your payment details. Apple handles all billing.

AI Rewrite

When you tap Rewrite, the text of that script and the options you picked (tone, length, audience, notes) are sent to our server and then to Anthropic, the company that runs the Claude AI model, to produce the rewritten version. Only the script you chose to rewrite is sent, and only when you ask for it.

We do not use your scripts to train AI models. Anthropic's handling of API data is described in its own privacy and usage policies. We keep rewrite request counts for billing and abuse prevention. We do not keep a long-term copy of your script text on our servers beyond what is needed to complete the request.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your information.
• We do not show ads or use advertising trackers.
• We do not access your camera or microphone except while you are recording inside the app.
• We do not read your photo library beyond saving the recordings you make.

Service providers

We use Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases), Supabase (our backend database and functions), and Anthropic (AI rewriting). Each processes data only to provide the service described above.

Your choices

• You can use the teleprompter without ever using AI Rewrite. Nothing leaves your phone.
• You can delete your scripts and recordings at any time from the app or your device.
• You can delete your account from inside the app (Settings, Account & Purchase, Delete Account). This removes your sign-in identifier, purchase records, and rewrite counts from our servers.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.

Children

SoftCue is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted in the app.
